Metamusic provides unique opportunities to enhance your daily life. Each composition utilizes the advanced hemispheric synchronization (Hemi-Syncâ) sound technologies pioneered by The Monroe Institute, an organization responsible for some of the most innovative research in consciousness occurring today.

Hemi-Sync facilitates the synchronization of electrical wave patterns in the left and right hemispheres of the brain - an optimal condition for improving human performance. To accomplish this, Hemi-Sync uses blended and sequenced sound patterns which can gently lead you into focused, whole-brain states of consciousness. While this condition occurs naturally in day-to-day life, it typically exists only for random, brief periods of time. With over 25 years of research, The Monroe Institute has developed audio technologies that enable you to achieve and sustain this highly productive, whole brain state effortlessly.

You may listen to Metamusic over conventional speakers to create a soothing audio environment, or through stereo headphones for maximum involvement. When different sound frequencies are delivered to each ear with stereo headphones, the frequencies are blended together inside the brain: the two hemispheres of the brain function together to "hear" a third signal--a beat frequency--which is the difference between the two actual sound frequencies. This beat frequency is not an actual sound, but an electrical signal that can only be created by both brain hemispheres working together, simultaneously. When precisely controlled tones are combined in the brain, the entire brain begins to resonate, or becomes "entrained" to the beat frequency, producing a unique whole-brain state known as hemispheric synchronization, or Hemi-Sync.
